It will be the institutional Rosé wine of the Designation of Origin and will represent it in its promotional activities
Puente la Reina, 25 March. Señorío de Sarría Viñedo Cinco Garnacha Viñas Viejas has been chosen as the best Rosé at the Premios Mejores Vinos D.O. Navarra 2022, a competition organized by the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Navarra and recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
The recognition obtained will allow Viñedo Cinco Garnacha Viñas Viejas 2021to represent the Appellation of Origin in all its communication and promotional activities, becoming an ambassador for the D.O. Navarra Rosé category.
The awards ceremony, held yesterday in Pamplona, was attended, among other authorities and representatives of the wine sector and the social and political scene of the region, by the President of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Navarra, David Palacios, and the Regional Minister for Rural Development and the Environment of the Government of Navarra, Itziar Gómez, who presented the award to Milagros Rodríguez, winemaker of Bodega de Sarría.
Viñedo Cinco is a wine made using the traditional saignée method from old-vine Garnacha grapes, the Navarrese grape variety par excellence, which Bodega de Sarría uses to make its rosé wines, since it provides very fresh, aromatic and ripe fruit, accompanied by a silkiness and delicacy on the palate that cannot be achieved with any other grape variety.
“Our Viñedo Cinco was first released in 2001 and was born with the intention of being a very special rosé, a rosé full of aromas with a great fragrance, almost a perfume, and since then, two decades ago, it has been faithful to its style and has been very successful”, says Milagros Rodríguez, winemaker at Bodega de Sarría.
“We are very happy and proud to have received this recognition and that Señorío de Sarría Viñedo Cinco has been chosen as the best Rosé of the wine region where the best rosés in Spain are made. Behind this wine there is a lot of work, effort and passion on the part of all the workers at Bodega de Sarría, who every day do their bit to continue making this winery a benchmark on the national and international wine scene,” says Milagros Rodríguez.
